Joomla 3.0 has been released. Here is my recap along with community reaction.
The Joomla! Project has announced the immediate availability of Joomla 3.0.0, which is the latest Short Term Release and the first stable release in the 3.0 series. The new version includes many new features, including the use of Twitter's Bootstrap framework.
In a Joomla setup the client would be the end user who is requesting web pages and information from the server that Joomla is stored on. However, you can also view the Joomla installation itself as a part of the server.
JoomShaper has released a responsive Joomla template that allows organizers of parties, seminars, conferences and festivals to display their events along with a deadline countdown and a purchase button.
There are many slide show extensions available for Joomla, as the name of this offering from XML/SWF suggests. And as honest as the name sounds, they have also tried to separate from the pack by including a couple of interesting and less common features.
One of the most common ways to generate this error is by trying to install a compressed extension that needs to be extracted first. For instance, some extensions ship with two different versions inside one zip file. If this is the case, you must first extract that "outer" directory to get to the version of the extension you need. But, how do you know if you have one of these extensions or not?
Minimal Skins, known for their very stripped down and basic Joomla templates has released another, even more minimal Joomla template this month. Developers are calling it, "A one-pager responsive minimalist joomla template. The easiest way to get a minimalist joomla template up and running."

This is especially true of the type of modal window called a lightbox. Click here to see one in action.
