I believe the web and the attitude of open-source, provide the opportunity for the small to excel. And Joomla plays a significant role in the new possibilities.

Event manager extensions consist of a calendar of events page, and an added ticketing feature, which enables visitors to view, book, pay for, and receive tickets, via email or as a downloadable PDF.

These are great extensions for you to recommend to clients. They add value to a site, cost very little, and add a user-interaction element your clients had perhaps not considered.

What's new in Joomla 3.5?

Joomla 3.5 has now been released and can be downloaded from Joomla.org. Along with the usual bug fixes, there are several new features of interest, including plugins to alert you to future updates, to help you provide system information for support and an easier method of customising the Protostar template. All of which make this a very useful upgrade.
