The Administrator back-end of a Joomla website is the area where a user such as a Manager, Administrator or Super Administrator manages all aspects of a Joomla website, including the content, much of the behavior and functionality, and the look and feel of the front-end as well.
The biggest feature to hit Joomla 1.6 was the vast improvement with access control. However this greatness comes with responsibility and it can be a pain to test a development site or troubleshoot issues with a live site. Joomla Administrators would love to be able to login as a particular user, without knowing that user's password. Well ... it turns out that this is indeed possible.
When writing web content, you often want to preview how an article will appear before it's published. This provides an opportunity to check that everything looks sensible, especially the positioning of images. However Joomla does not provide a preview feature and although there is a workaround, it's a bit clumsy. In this post I demonstrate how to preview Joomla articles using a free extension.
